Hey there! My name is Arjun Bharti and I am computer science engineering student from Model Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jammu.

One day I was just scrolling my Facebook feed and I saw SIH 2019 advertisement and then I called my closest friend from college and we decided to participate in the Smart India Hackathon 2019 (Software Edition).

Forming a team of 6 members:

Well, it was quiet tough job for us to form a team. We were looking for fellow students with same enthusiasm and there were very less students who were really interested in SIH 2019. But my close friends are always ready to support me and volunteered to participate with me.

First round of evaluation and it’s results:

In the first round, we have to choose the problem statement which is given by the Ministry/Organization and we have to submit the solution proposal to the officials before a deadline.(Use cases, innovative features, show stoppers, etc).

We got qualified for the second round!

The problem statement was given by DI Patna(Central Ministry) and our Nodal center was Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Wohooooo!! Super excited for the competition.

The Grand Finale was on 2nd and 3rd March.

Coding in train done right!

We were coding the train also, lol! (2:25AM)

Travelling in train was fun. We spent great time together, shared some good memories with each others, played games and disturbed other passengers too! 😛

Day 1 in Coimbatore:

We reached early morning and the college hospitality was so good. They picked up us from railway station and dropped to the college.

We went to different places in Coimbatore and had fun with the team.

The 36 hours long GRAND FINALE

Next morning, 7:00AM! The coding begins.

There were around 30 teams in our Nodal Center. Everyone started developing/deploying their software solutions. I was so excited for the competition as I was leading my team and started with the development. We divided the work and we were given some deadline to complete the tasks.

To boost our energy, we were given free Redbull energy drinks for free and some snacks.

Results time:

Our software solution was ready and we were ready to demonstrate our solution to the Jury. One of my teammate represented the solution and the jury were really impressed by our software solutions but unluckily we didn’t won the finals. The other teams were very good and maybe they represented the better solution.

It was a really great experience for me to lead a team in national level software development competition and I learned a lot of things from this journey and we are all set to compete next time! 👊

At the end, I am really grateful to my team for making this journey possible! Much love 💙 Sameep Sharma(The front-end KING), Pankaj Sharma(My back-end boy), Samya Kochhar(Creativity ninja), Avikanshit Dogra(The ANDROID pro) and Poonam Sharma(UI/UX pro)

Team: Code Turrets
